Lilia (Japanese: リリア Lilia) is the female player character in Pokémon Crimson and Cobalt. She also serves as one of the rivals if the player chooses to play as the male character, Ron.

About

Appearance

Lilia is a brown-skinned woman in her 20s, sporting a long loose curly hairstyle held up only by her headband. The red corals, as well as multicolor top, shorts and shoes serve as her default outfit. She also wears a smart watch.

Lilia is quite athletic despite her average build, and is short compared to an average Infer resident, being only 168 cm tall (approx. 5'6 ft.)

Biography

Lilia moves in with her brother Ron to Elser Town as their first stop - they're both welcomed by their friend Lisa, in a small house. They settle down here and prepare for their first day at the Infer Academy where they have been enrolled.

Both her and Ron are assigned to Professor Nia's research group, with their main tasks involving collecting information on Pokémon in Infer, as well as a strange evolutionary ability mentioned in various textbooks, similar to that of Kalos' Mega Evolution.

Her and Ron's home region goes largely unmentioned, besides loose descriptions of it being "quite far away from Infer".

As the rival

Lilia has a tendency to make snappy comments about the player's loss. As the player progresses in the story, she slowly gains respect for her brother and realizes he has matured throughout the journey.

During the battle against Crimsoil / Zeedrak, if the player's last Pokémon's HP is below 1/3rd its full amount, she will fully heal the surviving Pokémon and all its ailments, as well as restore PP of each move, but only once.

Trivia

  • Lilia went through a redesign early on, in order to showcase the protagonist's mature age compared to others, as well as a color palette change to red.
  • Contrary to a popular rumor spread by some students of Infer Academy, Lilia is not related in any way to Lenora
  • When player chooses to play as Ron, after accessing Hall of Fame, Lilia congratulates the player, and mentions her plans to become a Fire-type Gym Leader, however in none of the new battle facilities is she present as a Fire-type trainer, nor does she replace Amy as the region's Gym Leader.

Name origin

Lilia may come from Liliaceae, a biological family of plants, to which belong flowers like tulips or lilies. It is also a common female name in many countries.
